Photo Sessions

The short version:

$150 gets you up to two hours of my time at the location of your choice and a $50 print credit.

The long version:

Who will I shoot?

I prefer doing pet & equine sessions, followed by newborns, but I enjoy all aspects of photography. If you've checked out my portfolio and like my style, I'll shoot you! I also enjoy working with high school seniors, maternity sessions, engaged couples and have done some boudoir work as well as a wedding and some events. I've even done some fun "professional portraits" for a vet's office and website. I think that covers about everyone!

Your session typically includes all members of a family which of course includes all 4-legged members as well. I do not limit what constitutes a family - that's up to you to define. I have taken individual portraits of 10 pets in one session, and welcome someone to top that!

What do I shoot with?

I'm a Canon girl. I have two cameras and several lenses and will choose the best ones for what we're accomplishing with your shoot. I prefer to use natural light, but am prepared to use my speed light as needed.

Where will I shoot?

I live in central Massachusetts and like to work within an hour of my house. Honestly, I am willing to travel farther than that for a fun shoot (like the beach!) but I'll ask you for some gas money depending on how far I'm going. I've even traveled to Colorado to shoot a wedding, so if you'd like to do a shoot on the beach in Hawaii, let's talk about my travel expenses.

When do I do my sessions?

I have a varied schedule and we'll find a time that works for both of us. I try to shoot when the light is "good" so mornings and early evenings are best. If the weather is going to prevent us from getting good shots, I will give you the option to reschedule or to soldier on!

Why?

I'm guessing that if you've read this far, you already know the answer. I feel that every pet should have a wonderful picture that will allow them to live in your memory forever. They don't stay with us nearly long enough and I've never had someone lose a pet and say "I sure have too many photos of them and they're all too wonderful." Of course I've heard just the opposite. When I lost my own dog Jake, I was lucky to have gotten the perfect picture of him and it gives me great comfort to see his face every day.

What Else?

I think it's nice for people to know that I'm very active in rescue. In fact I got into photography as a way to help my foster cats get adopted faster. It didn't take a rocket scientist to notice that the cuter the picture on Petfinder.com, the faster the cat got adopted. Soon I was taking classes and investing in better equipment and Kit Cat Photography was born. Although I don't foster anymore, I do donate my time and talent to several rescue groups to help raise funds and awareness for the animals needing a forever home.
